About Irvine, CA

A carefully planned city, Irvine is located in southern Orange County, California has a population of about 307,000 according to the 2020 census. The primary watercourse draining the city is the San Diego Creek which flows northwest into Upper Newport Bay. 

Originally settled by the Gabrielano Indians for two millennia, a Spanish Explorer then visited the area named Gaspar de Portola and claimed the area for Spain in 1769.
